Another podium for Dennis Olsen
Wed 04, Jun, 2014

With a second place in Sunday's race at Spa-Francorchamps, Dennis Olsen ended a near perfect weekend in Belgium.

After taking his first victory in Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup on Saturday, Dennis continued the positive trend in qualifying for Sunday's race. There, he secured the same place as Saturday and was third on the starting grid when the second race of the weekend started.

- I feel I have more to give in qualifying, it didn't go perfectly well as I was slightly blocked by another car, said Olsen.

It was chaotic with many cars vying for positions on the first lap, but Dennis managed to hold on to his third place, despite a trip out on the grass. On lap number three took team mate Bruno Bonifacio the lead from Nyck De Vries, and Dennis put ever more pressure on the two in the front.

On lap number eight Olsen got a hang on de Vries after the legendary Eau Rouge corner, and despite the fact that the Belgian pushed Dennis all the way out on the grass, he took second place. The position he held all the way in, and was only 0.7 seconds behind the winner when the checkered flag fell.

But he is not impressed with the conduct of De Vries.

- What Nyck is doing is very dangerous. It's not okay to push people off the track as he did. It was a pity that I did not come by earlier, I think I'd been able to get past Bruno if it had been another lap. But all in all, this was a very good weekend, says Dennis.

Olsen caught up with its main competitors in the standings with a win and a second place in Belgium. In addition, he had fastest lap in both races.

The summary is Dennis' team mate Bruno Bonifacio and Nyck De Vries alike in the lead with 70 points after four races, while Dennis is third with 47 points.

Now Olsen travels home to Norway for physical training, before the next race in Moscow on 28 and 29 June.

- I look forward to it, now there will be some work to familiarize myself with the track in the simulator, since I 've never been there before, says Dennis.
