Thu 06, Aug, 2015

Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG travels to Malaysia this week for Formula Masters China Series’ fourth event, which will be held as part of the inaugural KL City Grand Prix - the very first street race to be held in the country’s bustling capital. With the city’s scenic skyline as backdrop, Nicholas Rowe, Martin Rump and Star Racing Academy’s Jeffrey Ye, Yuan Bo and Sean Zheng are primed to show off their skill in the VW-powered Tatuus Formula cars on Kuala Lumpur’s 3.25km track.

Following a successful outing at Penbay last month, the Hong Kong-based outfit is keen to extend their lead in the highly contested Asian series. With a new configuration to tackle, the forthcoming event presents a fresh challenge for the drivers. Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG will line up five cars in Formula Masters triple-header this weekend, as Chinese ace Yuan Bo joins the team for the remainder of the championship’s 2015 season.

Nicholas Rowe: “Penbay was a big step forward for me. I made many improvements in my driving with the help of the team. Hopefully we can have a strong weekend at the KL street race. I'm really looking forward to getting out there and giving it everything I've got.”

Martin Rump: “The last outing at Penbay proved us to be on top form. The team has been working very hard and we are all eager to continue our streak in KL. Having never been to a street circuit before, it will definitely be an interesting one.”

Jeffrey Ye: “I’m looking forward to the KL race as I think it will be fascinating experience to drive the formula car on the city centre’s street. I hope I can make further progress and deliver strong results throughout the race weekend.”

Yuan Bo: “The Formula Masters KL street race is a new challenge that I’m eager to take on with my new team. I’m looking forward to getting down to work with the crew and to deliver strong results throughout the weekend. It will surely be an interesting weekend and after missing Penbay, I can’t wait to be back in the car again.”

Sean Zheng: “The KL event is definitely the highlight of the Formula Masters calendar for me. To race the formula car on the streets of Kuala Lumpur will surely be an exciting experience. We are already halfway through the season and my goal is to improve further and score championship points for the team.”

John O’Hara, KCMG Deputy Managing Director: “We’re looking forward to this weekend’s races in KL’s city centre as this will be a new challenge for everyone in the team. We’re confident of a strong showing and are determined to secure victory this weekend.”
