The race weekend began with a relatively poor qualifying, where Dennis had to start Sunday's first final in 12th position. Under difficult conditions with a wet and slippery circuit, Dennis picked up a valuable 4th place. That meant second place overall in the championship for Dennis.
Sunday's qualifying for the weekend's second race gave a clear pole position and the first pole position for Dennis. This position he held into the finish, and Dennis passed the line a whole 5 seconds ahead of second place and championship leader Nyck de Vries finished in 4th place in this race. Dennis edged a bit closer onto the championship lead, and the excitement is great for the remaining races of the season.
- It's incredibly fun to succeed and it is the combination of preparation, hard work and closeness between the team and the sponsors that appear in these results says Dennis Olsen by phone from Germany. So far this season we have been a bit unlucky in the qualifyings and we have focused hard on this. Now I have proved that I have the speed that's necessary, and thus achieve top results. It is the excellence of all aspects that ultimately determines the end result, and as it stands now there is no longer an impossibility to take this championship.
The remaining six finals in the season, and the next race will be held September 12 to 14 at the Grand Prix circuit Hungaroring in Hungary.
