FFF Racing by ACM fielded three cars for the opening weekend of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East Championship at the Yas Marina F1 Circuit in Abu Dhabi (2-3 February).
With a car in the Pro, Am and LB Cup categories the team were hopeful of a good series of results and were not disappointed with double victories in the Am Class and LB Cup for Taylor Proto and Conrad Grunewald respectively.
An outright second place in the Pro category in race two for Jack Bartholomew and Aidan Read added to the trophy haul after finishing a competitive second to Lamborghini World Champion Riccardo Agostini and Daytona Rolex 24 hours victor Rik Breukers.
The only tarnish on an otherwise excellent weekend being the loss of second position in the Pro Class in race 1 with a technical issue that dropped the pairing back to fourth overall, second in Class.
Overseeing his team’s performance this weekend was Team Principal Andrea Caldarelli. “Overall it was a good start to our season, the newcomers to the team who joined us from the United States did a great job and deserved their results with faultless performances and our Pro drivers Jack and Aidan had good pace and raced hard for an excellent podium on the second race.
"The next two rounds in Dubai should see more trophies if the team and drivers continue to perform at this level."
Pro Class driver Read added: "Having competed with FFF Racing in the Blancpain Asia Series this was an excellent warm up with a familiar team for me, albeit that the Super Trofeo Huracan and the track were new to me. Working with Jack and familiar engineers soon put me at ease and I was pleased with my pace to get onto the outright podium and run with the more experienced Trofeo guys"
Jack Bartholomew added: "I am happy with the second position in race two, it's just a shame that we didn’t double up from race one, but we are still in a strong position and will take the fight to Dubai looking to stay in the Championship race"
Round two and three of the championship take place at Dubai February 16-17 and March 2-3 respectively.
