Giovanna Amati is back. Former F1 female racer, who entered three GP for Brabham in 1992, after a brilliant career in F.Abarth, F3 and F3000, will make her Italian GT debut driving a Mercedes SLS GT3 run by GDL Racing, sharing the wheel with team manager Gianluca De Lorenzi.

“We are thrilled Giovanna Amati will race for GDL Racing in 2014. She is very fast and experienced. Giovanna is also the third former F1 driver to race for our team, after Emanuele Naspetti and Domenico Schiattarella” - Gianluca De Lorenzi commented.

Amati will take part in all the Italian GT rounds, except Monza due to another commitment of the team, that will be involved this year in different international series and endurance races, such as 24 Hours of Spa and Dubai.

“I’d also like to involve Giovanna in our participation in the long distance races. - said De Lorenzi - But now we have to concentrate for Misano…”

Whith Giovanna Amati and Gianluca De Lorenzi, GDL Racing aims to the top positions since the first race scheduled for 10-11 May.
