Greaves Motorsport enjoys successful Official Test Day at Le Mans
Tue 03, Jun, 2014

Greaves Motorsport enjoyed a successful day at the Official Test Day for the 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours. The team completed a pre-planned programme, acquiring valuable data for the forthcoming race, which is vital bearing in mind the unique challenges posed by the La Sarthe circuit.

In addition to the team's schedule, all the drivers in the squad who will be making their début later this month in the endurance classic, (Alessandro Latif, Matt McMurry, Michael Munneman, and James Winslow) successfully completed their mandatory driver qualification laps. A further driver with the squad, Dan Norris-Jones, also drove the ten lap qualification test and also passed.

Car #41. First Session 3:48.611 ; Second Session 3:43.261

Car #42. First Session 3:46.903 ; Second Session 3:41.086

The actual race will commence at 15.00 CET on Saturday 14th June.

Team Manager, Jacob Greaves.“The Official Test at Le Mans is always one of the most intense days on the calendar, there is the illusion of having plenty of time in hand but the reality is that there is very little margin for error for either team or drivers to get the task completed.

Car #41 had three drivers who were experiencing Le Mans for the first time and James, Alessandro and Michael stepped up to plate and did a great job. The icing on the cake was also getting Dan through the Qualification process. Car #42 was anchored by our veterans, Chris and Tom, and we were thrilled that Matt cleared yet another hurdle on his journey to becoming the youngest driver to start the Le Mans 24 Hours.

We had a trouble free day and that is testament to the hard work put in behind the scenes by the guys on the team. Anything we achieve is based on their skills and dedication to the cause. The Nissan engine, the Zytek chassis and the Dunlop tyres combined really well and the team is looking forward to the challenge of competing against the large, high quality LM P2 grid at the world greatest endurance race.”
