After his fifth place finish at the last round in Austria, Kaan Önder is primed for another points scoring weekend in the Audi Sport TT Cup. The 18 year old from Istanbul, Turkey, has spent the last month preparing for the races which take place at the Oschersleben track in eastern Germany.
The track has fond memories for Kaan who stood on the podium at his last outing there in the BMW Talent Cup finals two season ago after finishing in second place.
Kaan has spent time in the iZone Driver Performance simulator and continued preparing mentally for the challenge of racing at the track for the first time where his mentor, Andy Priaulx, has a strong history of wins in touring cars.
Racing is broadcast live on the web at http://www.audi-motorsport.com/de/de/home/livestream.html with the races taking place at 4.55pm on Saturday and 12.20am on Sunday (CEST).
Kaan’s previous races are available to view at: http://www.audi-motorsport.com/de/en/tt-cup/tt_cup_on_demand.html

“I am ready to get back in my car and score more points. Ideally I would like to finish in the top three. The track is quite short with a lot of corners so it is busy with plenty going on. It’s going to be difficult to overtake so qualifying is probably even more crucial than at most other tracks. I’m better prepared again – that’s improving all the time. It’s hard to compete against drivers who have several years of racing similar cars on circuits that they know well, but I have definitely made progress in adapting how I drive the car as the race progresses. The same applies for qualifying too and I am getting stronger at flying lap pace. I have talked a lot to Andy [Priaulx] about the track, strategy and racecraft. It’s a circuit where he has had quite a few wins so I hope to do him proud.”
