KC Motorgroup (KCMG) Ltd. founder Paul Ip and driver Josh Burdon will take part in this weekend’s TCR Europe finale at Monza with Brutal Fish Racing and the Honda Civic Type R TCR.
Racing at the famous Temple of Speed, near car builder JAS Motorsport’s Milan base, both Ip and Burdon will make their series debut although are already familiar with the Civic Type R.
Australian Burdon had his first TCR experience during Super Taikyu’s Fuji 24 Hours earlier this year, where the Intercontinental GT Challenge regular demonstrated race-winning speed.
He also competed alongside Ip in the Motegi round, while the Hong Kong racer has also driven the car during the inaugural TCR Japan Touring Car Series, in which he scored a Gentleman class podium on his maiden weekend.
In 2019 KCMG has won with Honda in the FIA World Touring Car Cup, TCR Japan in both the overall and Gentleman class for bronze-grade drivers and has stood on the podium in Super Taikyu.
Ip and Burdon will be in capable hands as Brutal Fish Racing has won two races in TCR Europe this season, including at the most recent round in Barcelona.
Qualifying will take place on Saturday at 10:45 ahead of race one at 16:50. Lights out for Sunday’s race two is at 11:35.
Josh Burdon: “I would like to thank Paul and Brutal Fish Racing for this fantastic opportunity to join the TCR Europe grid for the final round at Monza. I can’t wait for the race weekend to start and get even more seat time in the Honda Civic Type R TCR.”
Paul Ip: “I’m very happy that an idea we have had since January is now becoming reality, to join the TCR Europe grid for Monza. The series is really tough and the skill level of the drivers is extremely high, so we will see where we are in the results. I look forward to spending the weekend with Josh, Brutal Fish Racing and JAS Motorsport.”
