Nicki Thiim joins Oman Racing with TF Sport for the Total 24 Hours of Spa
Tue 25, Jun, 2019

Oman Racing with TF Sport are pleased to announce Nicki Thiim as part of their 2019 Total 24 Hours of Spa ProAm line-up.

Nicki joins Charlie Eastwood, Salih Yoluc and Ahmad Al Harthy in the #97 Aston Martin, as the four embark on a mission to regain the title it won in 2017. The team raced in the Silver Cup class last year but return to ProAm this year with the new Vantage GTE.

Le Mans and WEC champion Nicki is a platinum ranked driver and is no stranger to TF Sport. The Danish driver raced alongside Salih with the team in ELMS in 2017, sealing second in the standings to secure the teams first full-time WEC entry.

He also races with Mark Farmer in the British GT, with the pair currently in their second season with the Vantage GT3. The pair ended last years’ championship in third but helped the team (with the sister GT3 of Marco Sorensen and Derek Johnston) win the series in 2018.

TF Sport and Nicki have accumulated 12 podiums and three wins in the three years they have enjoyed together, and they head to the Belgian circuit hoping to add to their accolades.

The 24 Hours of Spa begins on Monday 22 July, with the first track action taking place the following day. The annual parade continues on Wednesday (24 July), followed by practice and qualifying on Thursday and Friday (25/26 July). The race runs across Saturday and Sunday (27/28 July).

Nicki Thiim

"I’m looking forward to, it’s the biggest GT3 race on the planet so as a GT driver it’s of course one of the ones you want to go to. Another 24 hours, it’s a special one. It’s a good line-up with the TF boys, being back with Salih is something I’m looking forward to. We have a good relationship from the ELMS in 2017 and I’m really excited to get started. Spa is an iconic track and it’ll be good to go back there to compete in such a prestigious race."

TF Sport Director, Tom Ferrier

"Nicki is a huge asset to have in the team. He is a superstar and adds to our strong line-up. We’ve got some consistently good results in Blancpain, with three pole positions and three podiums, we’re just seeking that first season win in the series. Nicki has previously raced with Salih and knows Charlie well from the work with Aston Martin, so matched with Ahmad I think we’re in a very good position to be fighting at the front once again. We just need a bit of luck on our side and hopefully we can come home with a solid result."
