In the fall of 2012 Ola Nilsson was crowned champion in the German Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup championship. The location of the title triumph was the technical Oschersleben a bit outside Magdeburg - a circuit which Nilsson now returns to in search of further success when the season's second race of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland enters the spotlight.
After a tough premiere at Hockenheim two weeks ago, where technical problems relegated the championship's only Swede to the rear of the 37 car strong field, Nilsson head to Oschersleben with great hunger for revenge - and with the knowledge that the capacity is there to challenge for the season's (and career's) first points in the massively competitive GT series.
- I'm really looking forward to this weekend, says Ola Nilsson. Oschersleben is a special place for me after title victory there in 2012, but it is also a circuit I have great respect for and which is technically very difficult. It can only go better than it did in the premiere, and the goal is to build on the momentum we showed during the preseason. The field is extremely competitive and with so incredibly small margins, the results can go either way, but the aim is always to fight for points. I'm ready to give everything, as usual!
This weekend's two races run on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, and are broadcast LIVE on Viasat Sport and Viaplay for Swedish viewers.
