This weekend Oman Racing with TF Sport head to the home of British motor racing for the second round of Blancpain GT Series.

Ahmad Al Harthy, Salih Yoluc and Charlie Eastwood return to the #97 Aston Martin seeking a top three finish at Silverstone, to keep in championship contention in front of the home crowd.

The first race at Monza four weeks ago was a closely held match of survival of the fittest, with changing weather conditions that shook up the grid. The team were unfortunate to be struck with a string of punctures that hampered the race, but they came away from the season opener with a pole position and podium.

Going into the weekend, the team have a strong chance at securing a large points haul to add to their Silverstone tally.

“The podium is definitely the aim and to keep scoring points so we can stay near the top of the standings. We were a bit unlucky not to win at Monza, but we have a good chance in Silverstone to take a strong result. The weather looks to be wet, with maybe a dry Sunday. Top three is certainly the aim, but the championship is won and lost at Spa, so as long as we’re still in high contention prior to that round, we’ll be happy.”

“Monza was a very strong weekend for us and we’re absolutely determined to keep the same momentum going into Silverstone this weekend. To take pole position in the first race of the year was incredible and we really did have a great chance to fight for the win...until that double puncture which was beyond unlucky. It’s so important to score well in every round of Blancpain Endurance as the championship is by far the most competitive of its kind anywhere in the world. We’re feeling confident ahead of Silverstone, especially as we’ve always gone well there in the past.”

Salih Yoluc

“We were unlucky in Monza despite us getting the podium in the end. The two punctures really set us back and we probably could have won the race. We seem to be quite strong in qualifying, so we’re going into this weekend hoping for a win and some strong points.”

Charlie Eastwood

“We’re looking for a strong result after the good start in Monza with the podium. We were very strong in qualifying so hopefully we can turn it into a win this time and get the championship lead. Then hopefully we can maintain it until the end of the year by being consistent with our results.”
