Team Icer Brakes has claimed the Spanish GT championship GTC class title by defeating Monlau Competición in the 500 kilometers of Alcañiz, taking place at Motorland Aragón. The outfit participated in the season finale with another goal in mind: to prepare Maxi Endurance 32, another milestone in December.
The Spanish GT championship already knows its champion in the GTC class. It is Team Icer Brakes, as the team built on its tremendous success throughout the season with excellent performances carried out by both drivers, Jesús Díez Villarroel and José Manuel De los Milagros, at the wheel of the Dodge Viper GT Cup at the Circuito de Navarra, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the Circuit de Valencia and, finally, at Motorland Aragón.
Team Icer Brakes completed Saturday´s free practice session early in the morning, and track conditions were absolutely demanding as the rain came down steadily. In qualifying, De los Milagros set pole position time with a lap of 2:11.676, taking 3rd overall on the starting grid. It was a good start for the race, as it was thought to be difficult due to weather conditions. After two hours, Team Icer Brakes secured the title but they approached the season finale with another goal: to put experience under their belt for Maxi Endurance 32, the mammoth event scheduled at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve next month. Team Icer Brakes will field several cars in the Maxi Endurance 32, an unsurpassable end of season for the Spanish team.
